Terms of service
Effective date: 26 August 2026
This website is operated by Periwinkle Crochet. Throughout these Terms of Service, “Periwinkle Crochet”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Periwinkle Crochet.
These Terms of Service apply when you visit www.periwinklecrochet.com.au, purchase or download a product, create an account or otherwise use our website. By using this website or purchasing from us, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy and Return and Refund Policy.
If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the website or purchase our products.
1. Our Online Store
Our online store is hosted by Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform through which we offer our products and services.
You must provide current, complete and accurate information when placing an order. You are responsible for keeping your account details and password secure and for activities performed through your account.
You must not use our website or products for an unlawful, fraudulent or unauthorised purpose.
2. Products
Periwinkle Crochet primarily sells downloadable crochet patterns and may also offer physical products.
Digital crochet patterns are instructions for creating an item. Unless a product listing expressly says otherwise, purchasing a pattern does not include a finished crochet item, yarn, crochet hooks or other materials.
Please read the complete product description before purchasing.
Colours and product appearances may vary slightly between screens, printers, yarn dye lots and photography conditions.
3. Digital Products and Downloads
Digital products are generally made available after payment has been confirmed. You are responsible for providing a valid email address and downloading and securely storing your purchased files.
If you have difficulty accessing a file or believe you received the wrong or a faulty file, contact us at andrea@periwinklecrochet.com.au.
You are responsible for checking that your device has suitable software for opening the file format described in the product listing. Most patterns are supplied as PDF files unless otherwise stated.
Digital purchases are subject to our Return and Refund Policy. Your rights under applicable consumer law are not affected.
4. Crochet Pattern Results
We aim to make our patterns accurate, understandable and consistent with their descriptions. However, finished results can be affected by factors outside our control, including:
-
Individual crochet tension
-
Yarn weight, fibre, brand or dye lot
-
Hook size
-
Yarn substitutions
-
Personal modifications
-
Printing or screen settings
-
Whether gauge instructions are followed
Finished dimensions and yarn quantities are estimates only. We are not responsible for differences caused by substitutions, individual technique or failure to follow the pattern instructions.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have if a pattern is faulty, materially inaccurate or not as described.
5. Pattern Support and Corrections
Reasonable pattern support may be available for customers who purchased a pattern directly from Periwinkle Crochet.
When requesting assistance, please include your order details, the pattern name, the relevant round or row and a clear description or photograph of the issue.
If we discover an error in a digital pattern, we may correct the file, but we cannot guarantee previous customers will receive an updated copy. Minor formatting changes, clarifications or corrections do not automatically entitle a customer to a refund.
6. Intellectual Property
All content available through this website—including crochet patterns, written instructions, charts, diagrams, photographs, graphics, illustrations, videos, branding, logos and website text—is owned by or licensed to Periwinkle Crochet and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Purchasing a pattern gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use that pattern for your own crochet activities. Purchasing a product does not transfer ownership of the copyright or other intellectual-property rights.
Unless you have our prior written permission, you must not:
-
Copy, reproduce, republish or redistribute a pattern
-
Sell, share, lend, email or upload a pattern or any part of it
-
Post pattern instructions, charts or substantial extracts online
-
Translate a pattern for distribution or sale
-
Record or publish a tutorial that reproduces the pattern instructions
-
Convert a pattern into another format for distribution
-
Use our content to create a competing pattern or instructional product
-
Upload our patterns or content to artificial-intelligence training systems, content generators, file-sharing services or public databases
-
Remove copyright notices or claim our work as your own
-
Use Periwinkle Crochet names, logos, photographs or branding without permission
You may make a personal backup copy of a purchased digital file and print a copy for your own use.
7. Selling Finished Handmade Items
Unless the individual pattern or product listing states otherwise, you may sell finished items that you personally make from a Periwinkle Crochet pattern on a small, handmade scale.
The pattern itself, its instructions, photographs and other content must not be copied, included with the finished product or distributed to customers.
When practical, please credit “Pattern by Periwinkle Crochet”. You must not represent yourself as the designer of the pattern or imply that Periwinkle Crochet made, approved or guarantees your finished product.
Commercial manufacturing, mass production and production by third parties require prior written permission.
If an individual pattern includes different usage conditions, those conditions apply to that pattern.
8. Prices and Payment
Prices are displayed in the currency shown at checkout. Prices, promotions and product availability may change from time to time.
You agree to pay the total amount shown at checkout, including any applicable delivery charges and taxes. Payments are processed through Shopify and its supported payment providers.
If a product is listed with an obvious pricing or description error, we may contact you to offer the correct product or price or cancel and refund the affected order. We will not change the price of a completed order without your agreement.
You are responsible for any currency-conversion charges, international transaction fees, customs duties or taxes imposed by your bank or local authorities, where applicable.
9. Orders
Submitting an order does not guarantee acceptance. We may decline or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including where:
-
Payment cannot be authorised
-
Order information appears incomplete or fraudulent
-
A product is unavailable
-
A material pricing or product-description error has occurred
-
The order appears to involve unauthorised resale or misuse of our intellectual property
-
We are unable to lawfully complete the transaction
If we cancel an order after payment has been received, we will provide a refund for the cancelled amount.
10. Shipping and Delivery
Where physical products are offered, estimated processing and delivery times are provided as guides and are not guaranteed unless expressly stated.
Delays may occur because of postal services, customs, weather or other circumstances outside our reasonable control. Nothing in this section removes any right you may have where an order is not supplied within an agreed or reasonable time.
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. Additional delivery costs resulting from an incorrect address may be charged where permitted by law.
11. Returns and Refunds
Returns, cancellations and refunds are handled in accordance with our Return and Refund Policy and applicable consumer law.
Nothing in these Terms of Service excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Reviews and Customer Content
If you submit a review, photograph, comment or other content to us, you confirm that:
-
You created the content or have permission to share it
-
It does not infringe another person’s rights
-
It is not misleading, unlawful, abusive or harmful
-
It does not contain confidential information
You retain ownership of your content. If you expressly submit or tag content for possible sharing by Periwinkle Crochet, you give us permission to display and share that content for reasonable promotional purposes, with attribution where practical.
You may withdraw this permission for future use by contacting us. Withdrawal will not affect uses already lawfully made before your request.
13. Third-Party Services and Links
Our website may provide access to third-party services, applications, payment providers or links. These services are operated independently and may have their own terms and privacy practices.
We are not responsible for third-party websites or services except to the extent that responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded. You should review the applicable third-party terms before using those services.
14. Acceptable Use
You must not:
-
Interfere with the operation or security of the website
-
Introduce viruses, malicious code or harmful technology
-
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts or systems
-
Scrape, harvest or automatically extract website content without permission
-
Use false information or impersonate another person
-
Use the website to violate another person’s rights
-
Circumvent purchase, download or security restrictions
We may restrict access where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue.
15. Disclaimer
We take reasonable care when creating our website, products and crochet information. General crochet information provided through the website, blog, emails or social-media content is for informational purposes and may not be suitable for every person or project.
To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that the website will always be uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with every device.
16. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including rights and remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.
To the extent permitted by law, Periwinkle Crochet is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the website or products where that loss was not reasonably foreseeable.
Where the law permits us to limit a remedy for a failure that is not major, our liability may be limited to supplying the relevant product or service again, correcting the problem or paying the reasonable cost of doing so.
17. Privacy
Our collection and handling of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy. By using the website, you acknowledge that you have had an opportunity to review that policy.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service to reflect changes to our products, website, business practices or legal obligations.
Updated terms will be published on this website with a revised effective date. Changes will apply from the date they are published and will not retrospectively alter a completed purchase unless required by law or agreed with you.
19. Severability
If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
20. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws applicable in Australia.
Nothing in this section prevents a consumer from relying on rights available under the laws that apply to them or from bringing a claim in a forum available under applicable consumer law.
